Keys to the Golden City This evening Vicki will talk about her journey with sound healing, with songs from her repertoire for voice and harp.Keys to the Golden Citybegan as a project Vicki put together following a year with John Wadsworth's astrological course the 'Alchemical Journey' and some workshops with Chloe Goodchild's 'Naked Voice'. She then began developing her workshops as her understanding of the gifts she had been offered deepened. During this time she also began working with Tareth, a man who manifests the Earth's vibration as audible sound. This has had a profound influence on her work and as she become more aware of the importance of harmonics within our own vibrations that take us to higher realms of being, she has learned to listen to the music and wisdom that we all carry inside ourselves, discovering that it's a beautiful journey we can all take. Vicki Burke has worked with music as a teacher and performer all her life. Her journey into the world of healing began with Reiki, crystals and of course, sound, at the millennium. Healing through sound soon became the core of her work and when she took up the harp in 2003 she began writing songs and integrating the harp within her Reiki sessions. For further information please contact Vicki atkeystothegoldencity@yahoo.co.uk, or visit www.keystothegoldencity.com. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS EVENING'S WORKSHOP PLEASE SEE THE INFORMATION ON THE HOME PAGE ABOUT VICKI'S AFTERNOON AND EVENING WORKSHOPS THE PREVIOUS SATURDAY, 7TH MAY. |

Chakra Cleansing with Sahaj Yoga (week 1 Muladhara)
"The first chakra is situated below the sacrum bone in which resides the Kundalini, and its main aspect is innocence. Innocence is the quality by which we experience pure, childlike joy, without the limitations of prejudice or conditionings. Innocence gives us dignity, balance, and a tremendous sense of direction and purpose in life." If possible, please bring a footsoaking bowl - or a washing up bowl which will be used exclusively for feet - plus a plastic jug, and a small towel. This is the first of a monthly series, in which Pauline will take us through the chakras in turn, teaching the meaning, mantra and methods of cleansing each one. Pauline Moran is a naturopath, having originally studied osteopathy at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated in Complementary Therapies from the University of Westminster. Pauline was originally involved in art and design, and moved into therapeutic art when working with children with speech and language disorder. Discovering meditation 25 years ago and experiencing its health benefits instigated the move into natural medicine. She practises at Hope Street Holistic Clinic and teaches Sahaja Yoga every Monday free of charge. Tel: 0798 992 7701, E-mail: pmoran2@mailpuppy.com |

The Ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead Hephzibah Yohannan The Ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead, properly known as 'The Book of Coming Forth by Day', is, similar to the Tibetan Book of the Dead, a guide to the processes we go through after death, a guide to the Underworld. Today's talk, illustrated with slides, introduces the imagery of this ancient text, suggests how it was used and understood by the Ancient Egyptians, and how it is still relevant today, as a map to help us find our way through the distractions and complexities of everyday life. |
